Automation Engineer

ROSS Systems & Controls, located in Savannah, GA, specializes in the turnkey supply of industrial electrical control panels, including engineering, manufacturing, and support. We are seeking an entry level Automation Engineer to join our growing team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement PLC / HMI based automated control systems for use in diverse manufacturing and production environments.
• Support existing automation technology with component and process upgrades.
• Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
• Follow established quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with the design and implementation of automated systems, especially as related to manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of RS Logix / Studio 5000 / FT View and Siemens Step 7 / Tia Portal.
• Strong ability with software testing and validation.
• Superb communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with shop personnel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance and punctuality.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of solid hands-on experience in PLC , HMI, SCADA programming along with networking skills.
• Experience completing control panel projects from start to finish preferred.
• Basic 2D Auto-Cad experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, metal chips, cutting, and grinding.

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a DOT drug screen.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.

Work Environment

ROSS Systems & Controls operates in a 6,000-square-foot, climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
